Issue Position

Limiting the size and scope of government is the best blueprint to ensure economic freedom and prosperity. As Texas faces a budget deficit in the next legislative session, the pressure is going to be on Republicans to compromise our principles. It is imperative that we say NO to the liberal tax-and-spend mentality that has gotten so many states in trouble. As a conservative, I support marketplace solutions, not government mandates, and I will balance the budget with spending cuts, NOT accounting gimmicks or tax hikes. I believe we can shore up our finances and provide higher quality services by eliminating duplicity and inefficiency throughout bloated state agencies, reforming education, and ending handouts to illegal aliens.
