The Transportation and Infrastructure Committee will begin hashing out details Thursday of the largest transportation reform bill to move through Congress since the 1956 creation of the Interstate Highway System.

The American Energy & Infrastructure Jobs Act is an initiative to create long-term American jobs, according to Rep. Shelley Moore Capito, (R)-W.Va.

Capito said the plan supports and creates jobs, particularly in the construction, transportation and energy sectors.

She's going to push for it… Hard. "Time is money. Money is jobs, and I think by streamlining the time you will have more effective use of the money. And you will create the jobs that a more solid infrastructure will provide," said Capito.

Capito called The American Energy & Infrastructure Jobs Act the most significant jobs legislation this Congress will consider.
