Today, Congressman Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) released the following statement regarding his vote for a one month extension of the federal flood insurance program:
"Flood insurance is critically important to the half million Louisianans who depend on it. While a thirty day extension is not ideal, we cannot let it lapse for even a day and put our housing markets in jeopardy. Therefore, it is imperative that Congress act as quickly as possible to pass a five year extension of flood insurance so that policyholders can have some assurance moving forward."
