I spoke on the House floor on Tuesday about the importance of Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) Business Centers and you can see those remarks by clicking here. I fought for years to bring one to Memphis and fortunately we were successful. But Republicans are trying to cut funding for this vital program.
If we want to grow the economy and help create jobs we should help bring more MBDA Business Centers to more communities because they help minority business owners gain access to contracts, capital and markets. MBDA is part of the U.S. Department of Commerce and is the only federal agency created specifically to foster the establishment and growth of minority-owned businesses in America.
