Seniors Tell Hochul to Keep Fighting For Medicare

Today, Congresswoman Kathy Hochul met with senior citizens at the Dale Senior Center in Lockport and discussed her efforts to protect and strengthen Medicare, as well as the proposed changes to the program included in the recent House budget.

"Our nation's seniors have spent their lives paying into Medicare, to ensure they have a safety net once they retire," said Congresswoman Hochul. "These are not entitlements, they are investments our seniors have made, and the seniors I met with today at the Dale Senior Center echoed that sentiment. The recently passed House budget would essentially end Medicare -- forcing seniors to pay higher prices for health care and take a cut to benefits -- while at the same time giving multi-millionaires an additional $150,000 a year in tax breaks."

Last month, Congresswoman Hochul voted against the House Republican budget that would make cuts to Medicare and other vital programs services that keep our economy moving forward.
