Issa Releases DATA Act Amendments on Madison

Statement

Date: April 18, 2012
Location: Washington, DC

In anticipation of consideration by the House of Representatives, Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., Chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, today released a discussion draft of the manager's amendment to H.R. 2146, the Digital Accountability and Transparency Act.

"American taxpayers deserve to be able to access information about how their money is being spent," said Chairman Issa. "Regardless of where one falls on the ideological spectrum, there is no question that the infrastructure and reporting standards needed to "follow-the-money' has been lacking. The GSA travel and conference spending scandal is a perfect case study."
