Today, Congresswoman Laura Richardson announced that the City of Long Beach Housing Authority has been awarded a $432,262.00 grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing (VASH) in the form of tenant-based vouchers. This funding will be awarded to public housing agencies that have agreed to partner with eligible VA medical facilities.

The HUD-VASH grant will provide rental assistance for homeless veterans under a supportive housing program.

"One of my most important responsibilities is to make sure America keeps its promise to our veterans," said Congresswoman Richardson. "Thousands of young women and men from the 37th district have risked their lives by going into Iraq and Afghanistan. When they return home, we have an important obligation to make sure that their needs are met, so they can enjoy the very ideals for which they fought," said Congresswoman Laura Richardson.
