Today U.S. Rep. Gary Peters issued the following statement regarding the Justice Department investigating the death of 17 year old Trayvon Martin.

"As a father of three, I was appalled by the tragic and senseless killing of Trayvon Martin and it's imperative that justice be served. To lose a child simply because he walked to the neighborhood store is unimaginable and no parent should ever have to suffer this kind of loss. I strongly support Attorney General Eric Holder for launching a Justice Department investigation into this killing. My thoughts and prayers are with Trayvon Martin's family and friends."
