Q: Would you favor a deadline for withdrawal from Afghanistan?

A: Yes, I would. Our men and women in uniform have done an incredible job fighting in Afghanistan to oust an oppressive regime, fight terrorism, and give the Afghan people the opportunity to choose their own government. However, it is now time for the United States to turn the responsibility of running Afghanistan over to the Afghan government and bring our troops home.
