Congressman Todd Young (R-IN9) released the following statement after HR3606, the Jumpstarting Our Business Startups (JOBS) Act, passed the House on a bipartisan 390-23 vote. The JOBS Act is a package of six bills supported by President Obama that would ease SEC regulations on businesses raising startup capital or forming an IPO. If you are covering this story, please consider using some or all of the following statement from Young:
"For the last year, I've said that there is common ground to be found between Republicans and Democrats, and we should embrace it when we find it. This is especially true when it comes to job creation measures, and today's vote proves that to be the case. The road to economic recovery continues to be a long one, but it is easier to travel when we work together. Today's vote builds upon past bipartisan successes on job creation measures like free trade agreements and patent reform. I'm hopeful that we'll continue to build upon this foundation to strengthen our economy."
