Amodei Returns Unused Portion of Office Budget to U.S. Treasury

Congressman Mark Amodei (NV-2) today announced he will return $86,800 in unspent office funds to the U.S. Treasury to be applied toward the national debt. This represents 18% of Amodei's prorated budget for 2011. He was sworn in on September 15, 2011.
"Nevadans across the second congressional district have had to tighten their belts during these tough economic times. In the face of such challenges, trillion dollar annual budget deficits, and $15.5 trillion in debt, I think it's important to lead by example and run a fiscally conservative office. My goal is to provide the greatest possible service to my constituents at the lowest possible cost to taxpayers," said Amodei.
