SCHUMER ANNOUNCES $35,000 FOR BROOKLYN ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION

Grant will help to provide funding for assistive technology for individuals with disabilities, and training and technical support for online loan processing and database development

US Senator Charles E. Schumer today announced that The Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFI) Fund of the US Department of the Treasury will award a $35,000 Technical Assistance grant to the Brooklyn Economic Development Corporation.

"Businesses need to be able to keep up with the ever changing technologies around us, and this funding will help an organization that has already given so much to the area in terms of economic and community development," Schumer said.

As a Technical Assistance grant, the funding will be used to build the organization's capacity to aptly address the community development and capital access needs of the specific Target Market. Specifically, the Brooklyn Economic Development Corporation will use the funds to help introduce assistive technology for individuals with disabilities and the grant will also provide training and technical support for online loan processing as well as database development and maintenance.
