Issue Position

I will always fight to protect public employee pensions. These pensions are owed to the police officers, firefighters, teachers, and front-line government workers who have provided essential services to every resident of our state. We made a promise to them and we must keep that promise.

The main cause of the shortfall in these pension funds is financial mismanagement by our government. We must make the necessary changes to ensure that these pension funds will be solvent and secure. We must also eliminate the loopholes that have allowed politicians to abuse the pension system for personal gain. Public pensions should only be available to public employees. We cannot allow private and political employees to reap benefits they have not earned.
