Rep Walberg Remarks On Senate's Failure To Pass A Budget

Statement

Date: Jan. 24, 2012
Location: Washington, DC

Today President Obama will deliver his fourth State of the Union Address, coinciding with the 1,000th day the Senate has failed to pass a budget. The last time the Senate approved a budget was April 29th, 2009. Since that time, the federal government has added more than $4 trillion to our national debt.

"The Do-Nothing Senate has failed to do its job for the past 1,000 days, abandoning its duty to protect taxpayer dollars and tackle our nation's debt. House Republicans made this a priority almost immediately upon taking office last year, passing a budget that cut almost $6 trillion over the next ten years. Families and businesses across the country are required to pass and work within a budget--it's time their government did too," stated Congressman Walberg on the 1,000 day anniversary.
