In 2009 the Report Card for America's Infrastructure gave our infrastructure a grade of D. The highest performing sector was solid waste, which received a C+. How is our country supposed to compete in the global economy when our infrastructure is at the bottom of the class? I support the proposal for a national infrastructure bank put forward by President Obama to secure funding for vital infrastructure projects. Upgrading our infrastructure will help to end the ongoing unemployment crisis and provide a foundation for economic greatness in the 21st century.
