Today, Congressman Bill Cassidy, M.D., released the following statement regarding recent Congressional actions to extend the current payroll tax credit for two months.
"Although I agree with tax relief for the middle class, I disagree with the way the Senate paid for this relief and the two-month duration of the bill. Speaker Boehner decided the Senate version was acceptable once the Senate decreased the accounting burden on small business owners. I am pleased this burden was decreased but I still oppose the means of paying and the short duration."
