Scalise to Senate: Keep Working Until We Get it Right

Congressman Steve Scalise today appeared on the House floor and called upon the U.S. Senate to stay in Washington and pass a year-long payroll tax extension.

"Some in Congress continue to insist on kicking the can down the road by instituting a tax policy that only lasts two months despite the fact that payroll experts say this approach will further hamper our weakened economy," Scalise said. "We need to institute a tax policy that gives American families the tax relief they need with the certainty they deserve. We need to keep working until we get it right. Unfortunately, there are some in Congress who would rather go on vacation then come back here and do the job the American people elected us to perform. Let's get the policy right. Let's do our work, and let's do the right thing for the American people."
