Heinrich: Tea Party Republicans Vote To Raise Taxes on Middle-Class Families

Today,U.S. Representative Martin Heinrich (NM-1) released the following statement in response to Tea Party Republicans' refusal to pass the bipartisan Senate bill to extend middle-class tax cuts, which 39 Senate Republicans supported:

"The Tea Party in the House pulled the rug out from under the hard-working people they were elected to represent. The middle class is still on a shaky path to recovery from the worst recession since the Great Depression. Republicans would rather raise taxes on middle-class families and force seniors to pay more for their health care than ask millionaires and billionaires to pay their fair share."
