Cornyn Statement on Ali Mussa Daqduq: Could be "Sipping Tea in Tehran"

Statement

Date: Dec. 16, 2011
Location: Washington, DC

Today, responding to a question about Ali Mussa Daqduq, a Hezbollah commander linked to the kidnapping deaths of U.S. soldiers, White House spokesman Jay Carney, stated that the Administration is taking the case "seriously." Sen. John Cornyn, a member of the Senate Armed Services and Judiciary Committees, issued the following statement in response:

"Daqduq is a terrorist responsible for killing five American soldiers. If the Administration is truly serious about this case, they'll try him for war crimes in a military tribunal, not increase the chances that he will end up sipping tea in Tehran."
