Congresswoman Hochul Raises Security Concerns Of Domestic Military Bases During Homeland Security Committee Hearing

During a Joint House-Senate Homeland Security Committee hearing on the threat to military communities within the United States, Congresswoman Kathy Hochul today raised concerns about the security of our domestic military bases, as well as the protection of the U.S. Northern Border.

"The attack on Fort Hood in 2009 was appalling, and we must ensure a tragedy of this nature will never happen again," said Congresswoman Hochul. "My home community is close enough to the border that we know there could be a real terrorist threat to our region and the Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station. With the recent news that there's been Hezbollah activity in Canada, we can no longer afford to ignore the growing threat on the Northern Border."

This Joint Committee hearing consisted of Members of both the House and Senate Homeland Security Committees.
