Walberg Weekly Wrap Up 11/18

Statement

Dear friends,

I'd like to wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving with family and friends next week. I know this time of year can often feel hectic, but it is always worth it to spend time with loved ones. We must not forget that even with all of the problems and frustrations that we face in our country, and in our personal lives, as American we still have much to be grateful for.

It was also a busy week in Washington. On Friday, a strong majority of the House voted in favor of a Balanced Budget Amendment, but failed to reach the required two-thirds vote to pass it. I supported a Balanced Budget Amendment because it would pull back the reins back on government spending, as exemplified in my vote this week in opposition to another continuing resolution, just to keep the government open.

Earlier in the week I also had the chance to question the CEOs of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac about their bonuses. For more on both of these events, please check out the newsletter below.

Meanwhile, I'm looking forward to my visit home this week, especially speaking about job creation with you at two events in Eaton County. Details on the events are listed below. I would love to see you there.

Sincerely,

Congressman Tim Walberg
