SCHUMER ANNOUNCES ALMOST $1 MILLION FOR NYC OFFICE OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE COORDINATOR

Funds will be used for improvement of crime laboratory capabilities and technology

US Senator Charles E. Schumer today announced that the City of New York will get $993,500 from the U.S. Department of Justice's National Institute of Justice. The grant will provide funding to the New York City Criminal Justice Coordinator to improve and expand crime laboratory capabilities.

"Make no mistake about it. Hard work and strong leadership are important to law enforcement, but to really get crime down you need to provide a community with the resources it needs to put its good work to use. Delivering this money to the City of New York will provide better technology and equipment to continue and expand its crackdown on crime," Schumer said.
