U.S. Senator Jerry Moran (R-Kan.) issued the following statement today after the United States' national debt surpassed a record high of $15 trillion:
"Today our country's national debt limit reached an all-time high of $15 trillion. The hard truth is our country is broke. Congress and the President must come together to address our country's greatest threat: our government's habit of reckless spending. Without a serious plan in place to reduce our debt, this pattern of fiscal irresponsibility will jeopardize our future and the American dream to be lived by our children and grandchildren."
