With today's news that unemployment is at nine percent, Congressman Chuck Fleischmann called on Harry Reid and the Democratically-led Senate to act on over 20 jobs bills that have been sent over by the House.

"The American people did not elect members of the United States Senate to sit on their hands. Their failure to even consider legislation being sent to them is unacceptable. With unemployment above eight percent for the 33rd month in a row, the American people expect action. While the House has acted, the Senate continues to stall any further action. We have passed over 20 jobs bills that remain stuck in the Senate. We have also passed a budget, while it has been over 900 days since the Senate passed a budget. They were elected to do a job, and they should do that job," Fleischmann said.
