Congressman Chuck Fleischmann responded to reports that President Obama supports the delay of building the Keystone XL pipeline until after 2012.
"While President Obama claims he wants to put construction workers back on the job, he now supports delaying the building of a pipeline that is estimated to create 13,000 construction jobs until after his 2012 re-election. The President should put American workers ahead of his second term," Fleischmann said.
"This pipeline is also important for producing North American energy, and reducing our reliance on Middle Eastern oil. Another delay, more regulations and the thoughts of re-election are unacceptable in this time of need for the American people. Mr. President: jobs first, not re-election."
