The following is a statement from Congresswoman Kathy Hochul following her vote for the Veterans' Compensation Cost-of-Living Adjustment Act of 2011:
"Today, I was proud to vote for the Veterans' Compensation Cost-of-Living Adjustment Act of 2011, which will help many of our veterans and their families get by in these tough economic times. As a Member of the House Armed Services Committee, I understand the struggles many of our veterans face and will continue to work tirelessly to ensure our vets receive the benefits that provide them with reasonable and adequate compensation.
"This bill will give these brave men and women an increase in their disability compensation, as well as additional compensation for dependents and dependency and indemnity compensation for surviving spouses and children.
"I urge the President to quickly sign this bill into law so that our veterans don't have to wait a single day to receive the resources they whole heartedly deserve."
