"It is Time to Take Action on Forgotten Jobs Bills"

Congressman James Lankford (R-OK) called for the Senate and President Obama to start moving on House-passed job creation legislation after this morning's lackluster unemployment report. The House has already approved twenty-two job creation bills that await action from the Senate and President.

"What began as the "Forgotten Fifteen' has now increased to twenty-two House-passed job creation bills sitting outside the Senate door," said Congressman Lankford. "The House has worked in a bipartisan manner to create a positive environment for private-sector job creation, but the Senate has failed to make any progress. Meanwhile, President Obama has traveled the country demanding that Congress get to work on the jobs bill that has already been rejected by the Democrat-led Senate.

"It is time to take action on the forgotten jobs bills. These low-cost and no-cost economic proposals help simplify the tax code, streamline regulations, expand energy production and increase access to capital for community banks and small businesses. We can speed up and continue our economic recovery only if we work together to pass legislation in a bipartisan manner. Let's find the common ground we all share and get Americans back to work."
