Iran Terror Plots on American Soil

Statement

Location: Washington, DC

Last week several top military and intelligence experts testified before my joint committee hearing that Iran is a strategic enemy of the United States and that the U.S. should consider more aggressive actions against Iran in the wake of its latest plot to work with Mexican drug cartels to assassinate the Saudi ambassador on American soil. The hearing also explored Iran's ties to Latin America and its nexus with Hezbollah and Mexican drug cartels. Enough is enough. It is obvious that economic sanctions have not worked. Our message to Iran should be simple: continue threatening the national security of the United States and have no doubt there will be a punitive response. We should not take military action off the table.
