Webster Statement on Withdrawal of Troops from Iraq

Statement

Date: Oct. 21, 2011
Location: Washington, DC

U.S. Representative Daniel Webster (FL-08) issued the following statement concerning the decision to withdraw troops from Iraq:

"There is no doubt that the U.S. military and civilian leadership have made tremendous strides forward in Iraq. Our service men and women deserve our highest praise for successfully navigating a difficult and dangerous situation and ultimately putting the country of Iraq on a path to lasting democracy. "

"I hope that this decision was made with the direct council of our military on the ground, but regardless I welcome those returning in the coming months."

"I welcome home those who will be returning and express sincere gratitude for the sacrifices that they, as well as those who served before them, have offered on behalf of their country," said Congressman Daniel Webster.
