Issue Position: On the Proper Role of Government

Issue Position

We need government. The challenge is finding the balance between a government that protects the rights of its citizens but doesn't become so intrusive that it hinders the freedoms, opportunities, and creativity of those citizens. I will not submit bills simply to justify my position. I will not support others doing so either. I will listen to my constituency, utilize the resources available to me, and that will determine whether any idea is worthy of legislation.
