Recent reports that Attorney General Eric Holder had knowledge of the bungled gun-walking program known as "Fast & Furious" are very disturbing, says Rep. Gus Bilirakis (FL-09), who vows to continue investigating the program and its reach.

"It is extremely troubling that the United States government would willfully allow weapons to be acquired by dangerous criminal and drug trafficking organizations," said Bilirakis, a member of the House Homeland Security Committee. "It is also very disturbing to find out that Attorney General Holder and the Obama Administration might have known about this program."

Documents obtained this week show that Holder was briefed by Justice Department officials about the program. But in a Congressional hearing, Holder denied knowing about the program.

Bilirakis has written multiple letters to the Justice Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives asking for answers about Fast & Furious and related programs that may have originated out of Florida.
