Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart Urges Floridians to Make Preparations for Hurricane Ivan
WASHINGTON-Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart (R-Fla.) today strongly urged that Floridians start making preparations for Hurricane Ivan now.
"Hurricane Ivan is currently being projected to hit the southern tip of Florida sometime early Sunday morning," Diaz-Balart said. "While this storm is still several days out and may change course, I strongly urge everyone to start making preparations now. After being battered by Hurricanes Charley and Frances, this Category-5 storm is even stronger and must be taken seriously by everyone in Florida. We hope for the best but must prepare for the worst."
"If Hurricane Ivan continues its course," Diaz-Balart continued, "it will be the first time more than 40 years that Florida has been hit by three hurricanes in the same year. Despite this battering our state continues to endure, we are resilient people and will make a full recovery."
