Senator Murray Thanks Supporters, Looks Ahead to November

(SEATTLE) - U.S. Senator Patty Murray, who remained in the Senate today to vote on the Homeland Security Appropriations bill, this evening thanked Washington state voters for their Primary Day support and looked forward to a campaign about the issues.

Statement by Senator Patty Murray:

"I am energized by the incredible support that I have seen all across our state. I look forward to the next phase of our campaign and to talking about the issues that matter most to Washington residents.

I am running for re-election to the U.S. Senate, because I love our state and country and I believe that we can do better. My roots are in Washington state and my own grandson is growing up here today. I want to make sure that we make the right decisions today so that our state is a better place for our children tomorrow.

With just under fifty days left until Election Day, I look forward to continuing to talk about the issues that are important to communities across Washington state.

From Walla Walla to Bellingham and Spokane to Vancouver, voters have looked me in the eye and told me about the issues that matter most to them. We need to make our country more secure, invest in jobs here at home, ensure that every American can afford to see a doctor, give our children the skills they need to succeed and protect our ports and borders
from those that would do us harm.

These are the issues facing our state and nation today, and they are the questions we need to focus on in this election.

There is a clear difference between me and my opponent on the issues that matter most to Washington state. I look forward to a campaign about the issues and to returning to the Senate to be your voice as we move our state and nation forward."
