Smith: Raising Taxes Only Adds More Uncertainty

Congressman Adrian Smith (R-NE) today issued the following statement in reaction to the release President Obamas debt reduction plan.

The Presidents proposal is more political than economic. Im saddened he continues to advocate for policies, fueled by class warfare, which will only add more uncertainty to our fragile economy, Smith said. Instead of raising taxes in the middle of a recession, greater simplicity and predictability in the tax code through comprehensive reform would most benefit families, workers, and job creators.
