Clyburn Statement on GOP CR Failure

Statement

Date: Sept. 21, 2011
Location: Washington, DC

Assistant Democratic Leader James E. Clyburn today issued the following statement after the Republican Leadership's Continuing Resolution failed to pass the House by a vote of 195 to 230:

"I'm pleased the House rejected the Republican Leadership's outrageous attempt to advance their partisan agenda by holding disaster victims hostage. After this embarrassing defeat, I am hopeful common sense will prevail and the Republican Leadership will now produce a clean bill to fund essential services and provide disaster relief without further delay."
