Landry's Efforts to Protect American Jobs from Government Overreach Scores Another Victory Today

Congressman Jeff Landry (R, LA-03) applauded today's passage of H.R. 2587, the Protecting Jobs From Government Interference Act, as a victory for American workers and job creation.

"I came to Congress to help create jobs, and I stand strong in this commitment. With over 14 million unemployed Americans, we must get the federal government out of the way of job creators and focus on strengthening our workforce," said Landry. "In this spirit, I firmly believe it is necessary to rein in the NLRB and its arbitrary, job-killing, and altogether dictatorial policies."

Introduced in response to a recent complaint filed by the NLRB against the Boeing Company for its decision to open a manufacturing plant in South Carolina -- a "right-to-work" state, H.R. 2587 amends the National Labor Relations Act to prohibit the NLRB from ordering any employer to relocate, shut down, or transfer employment under any circumstance.

Landry, who co-sponsored H.R. 2587, continued: "H.R. 2587 simply ensures that an unelected government board cannot subjectively strong-arm private business with rigid government regulation and discriminatory rulemakings. This legislation promises to create jobs and foster business development across the country, and I look forward to it becoming law."
