DeLauro on Rising Medicare Premiums

WASHINGTON - Congresswoman Rosa L. DeLauro (Conn.-3) today released the following statement on the news that Medicare premiums will rise a record 17 percent next year. The announcement was made by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Friday.

"Announcing the steepest premium increase in Medicare's 40-year history on a Friday night does not hide the impact it will have on seniors and the disabled. This increase will be devastating to Medicare beneficiaries who are already struggling to obtain the prescription drug prices they need at prices they can afford."
