Pete Sessions Statement on August Jobs Report

Statement

Date: Sept. 6, 2011
Location: Washington, DC

U.S. Congressman Pete Sessions (R-TX-32), a Member of House Republican Leadership, today released the following statement in response to the Department of Labor's August jobs report:

"Today's jobs report once again demonstrates the urgent need for Washington Democrats to join House Republicans' efforts to get the American people working again. Since January, we have passed numerous jobs bills that would provide certainty to job creators and spur our nation's economy. Unfortunately for the American people, the Democrat-controlled Senate has failed to take action on these common-sense proposals.

"Earlier this year, House Republicans presented our Plan for American Job Creators which calls for the government to reduce regulatory burdens on businesses and create jobs through innovation in the free-enterprise system. As President Obama addresses Congress in a Joint Session next week, it is my hope that he will move beyond the failed spending policies of the "Stimulus' and embrace proven pro-growth solutions to get Americans back to work and preserve the American Dream for future generations."
