$1.5 Million in Federal Funds for Mustang Ridge Courthouse, Municipal Center

Statement

Today, U.S. Rep. Lloyd Doggett announced the City of Mustang Ridge will receive a $1.5 million USDA Rural Development loan to build a new municipal building and courthouse to accommodate the Mustang Ridge Police Department, court clerks, and the 50-75 citizens who come to court each week. Mustang Ridge was able to secure the low-interest loan from USDA after meeting with Congressman Doggett's office about the need for a new courthouse and possible funding solutions. The city is in the process of choosing a location for the new building.

"The families of Mustang Ridge, the law enforcement officials, and the judicial officers will now have a new home of justice thanks to these federal funds," said Rep. Doggett. "I am pleased that my office was able to assist Mayor Flores with determining the best path forward to make this next piece of Mustang Ridge's story a reality."

Mayor Flores was pleased to learn of the funding. "I am grateful to the support Mustang Ridge received from Congressman Doggett and look forward to the day we can celebrate the groundbreaking and ribbon-cutting of this new building."
