Chairman Graves Joins Rep. Hanna in New York for a Small Business Forum

Statement

Chairman Sam Graves joined fellow Small Business Committee Member Congressman Richard Hanna (NY-24) in New York for a Small Business Roundtable yesterday. The roundtable, hosted by the Mohawk Valley, Herkimer County and Rome Area Chambers of Commerce, brought small business owners from around New York's 24th Congressional District together to share their concerns with Chairman Graves and Congressman Hanna.

"I want to thank Congressman Hanna for inviting me to New York to hear firsthand about the challenges small business owners face in this region. Small businesses are the cornerstone of our economy and our leading job creators. They will be the ones to turn our economy around and it is vitally important that we get out of Washington and hear their concerns in a real world setting."

"The truth of the matter is that many of our small businesses are struggling. Instead of expanding and creating jobs they are trapped under the weight of high taxes, overregulation and a cloud of economic uncertainty. Over the last several months my Republican colleagues in the House and I have worked hard to promote policies that will take the burden off of our small businesses and promote economic growth. This roundtable was an excellent way for Congressman Hanna and me to hear from these small business owners about the impact Washington has on their livelihoods."

Congressman Hanna is currently serving his first term in Congress and is a Member of the Small Business Committee. The founder of Hanna Construction, Congressman Hanna is a former small business owner and a member of the Mohawk Valley Chamber of Commerce.
