Congressman Jeff Landry (Republican, New Iberia) issued the following statement regarding the loss of troops in today's helicopter crash in eastern Afghanistan:
"Sharon and I wish to express our deepest condolences and prayers to the families who lost their spouses, children, and friends in today's helicopter crash. As we mourn the lives of these great heroes who gave the ultimate sacrifice, let us remember all of our brave soldiers who fight for freedom and liberty. May God let these fallen warriors rest in peace and protect all our men and women serving in uniform who are in harm's way. And may God continue to bless the United States of America."
