The Fifth Congressional District is home to thousands of federal employees and retirees, both military and civilian. Congressman Hoyer has led the fight on issues important to this essential part of our community, including securing fair pay -- with a strong focus on ensuring pay parity between military and civilian personnel. Hoyer has also advocated for quality health care coverage, a solid retirement system and fair working conditions. He recognizes that such advances in the public sector often spur the private sector to improve conditions for all workers in the Fifth District and nationwide.
