Issue Position

I am thankful for our nation's heroes.

I have not forgotten the sacrifices our veterans have made, and I will not forgot about them as I fight to protect funding for those programs that affect them most.

Our men and women in uniform have done an exemplary job -- from helping to bring about a significant reduction in violence in Iraq; to improving the capacity and capability of the Iraqi Security Forces; to spearheading a drawdown of troops and equipment, one of the largest logistical operations by the U.S. military since World War II in Afghanistan and ultimately preventing genocide in Libya.

I promise to do five things for our veterans: I will always promise to help our veterans succeed; I promise that they will get the benefits promised to them and their families; I promise them high quality health care; I promise them the resources they and their families need; and I promise to leave no soldier, sailor, airman, Marine, or veteran

Veterans have served our nation well, and as your Representative I promise to serve them equally. Veterans will not be forgotten on my watch. I remember, and I will do all that I can to ensure that others do as well.
