Issue Position

The people of the Darfur region of Sudan have been subject to brutal persecution and violence including systematic killings and rape. I saw and heard about the suffering of Darfuris when Speaker Nancy Pelosi and I visited a refugee camp. I have worked with colleagues, including fellow members of the Congressional Black Caucus, and non-profit organizations to raise awareness of the humanitarian crisis. I also support efforts to arrest and prosecute the President of Sudan and others responsible for the genocide and to hold them accountable.
