Rokita: The Fight for Cut, Cap and Balance Has Only Begun

Today Rep. Todd Rokita released this statement in response to the Senate voting to table Cut, Cap and Balance:

"Today's move by Senate Democrats to table Cut, Cap and Balance is evidence that they have again chosen to put politics ahead of addressing the debt crisis and heeding the will of the American people.

"The only way to address the debt crisis is to attack the out-of-control federal spending driving it. Cut, Cap and Balance is the only compromise on the table that actually does that. The fight for Cut, Cap and Balance has only begun and I urge Americans to let their Senators know they expect action. Nothing less than the future of our children and grandchildren is at stake." Rokita said.

A recent CNN poll showed that 66 percent of the Americans support Cut, Cap and Balance. Despite broad public support, the Senate voted along party lines to table it 51-46.
