Letter

Dear Secretary:

I am pleased to write in support of the application submitted by the Hudson Valley Center for Innovation (HVCFI) and its partners for funding under the Jobs and Innovation Accelerator Challenge Program. Such funding will enable HVCFI to develop a light-wind-and-alternative-and-renewable-energy cluster within the confines of the City of Newburgh, New York.

In keeping with its mission as a partner of iCLEAN, the NYSERDA funded partnership for Incubators for Collaborating and Leveraging Energy and Nanotechnology, the HVCFI is continuing its efforts to attract light wind development by offering systems testing and IP validation, manufacturing/assembly, and commercialization of numerous wind and renewable related technologies to the Greater Hudson Valley through its WindPower Initiative (WPI) Cluster. The WPI cluster will offer testing and validation systems and technologies; executive mentoring for development of sustainable business; financial, sales, and marketing models; commercialization strategies, and much more.

In collaboration with its training partners, HVCFI plans to provide job and workforce training in manufacturing, assembly, testing, monitoring, installation, sales, and marketing in one of the many light wind and energy entities they plan to attract to the region.

The WPI cluster and related energy job training incubator will help facilitate job growth and exciting renewable energy commercialization and technology development, and I applaud HVCFI for its foresight. I sincerely hope its application for funding meets with your approval.
