Pete Sessions Supports Cut, Cap and Balance

Statement

Date: July 19, 2011
Location: Washington, DC

U.S. Congressman Pete Sessions (R-TX-32), a Member of House Republican Leadership, today released the following statement regarding his support for H.R. 2560, the "Cut, Cap and Balance Act of 2011:"

"The House Republican "Cut, Cap and Balance' plan responsibly tackles our spending-driven debt crisis and prevents another reckless tax, borrow and spend binge that we've witnessed from Washington Democrats. I call on President Obama to join our efforts to save our nation from its current path towards bankruptcy and reverse the trend of spending money we don't have.

"The President has asked Congress to raise the debt limit, yet he hasn't outlined a specific plan to address our looming debt crisis. Our plan to balance the budget will encourage American job creators, inject certainty into the economy and pay down our nation's unsustainable debt. I will support the "Cut, Cap and Balance Act' on the House floor today so that we may begin to get our fiscal house in order and ensure a brighter future for generations to come."
