My Husband is the Best Choice

Dear friend,

I can say with 100 percent certainty that my husband, Mayor Johnny DuPree, is the best candidate for governor of the state of Mississippi. Johnny and I have been married for more than 38 years, and very few people know him better than I do.

Johnny is a remarkable father, a committed husband and a dedicated public servant. For as long as I've known him, he has worked to make life better for the people he serves.

More than 30 years ago, Johnny and I were co-presidents of the Parent-Teacher Association at our girls' elementary school. To this day, Johnny is just as concerned about educating children as he was when our girls were in school.

That's why Johnny launched the Mississippi Education Restructuring Program, which provides more than $85 million in tax cuts for teachers and parents, places graduation coaches in every secondary school in the state and will launch a public-private partnership for early childhood development.

I have watched Johnny, in awe, over these past several months campaigning throughout the state listening to your concerns. As I watch him interact with the citizens of Mississippi, I am convinced there is no one better to lead our state than my husband.

Johnny says all the time that there are some good men running for governor for our great state. I don't disagree. However, like I said, I believe with 100 percent certainty that my husband, Mayor Johnny DuPree, is the best choice.
