As the wife of a veteran, Kelly understands the profound sacrifices of those who have risked their lives in service to our country. One of the happiest days of her life was when her husband Joe, who flew combat missions in the A-10 Warthog, returned home from the Iraq War. She is also especially proud to be the granddaughter of a World War II veteran who participated in the Normandy invasion.
From that personal perspective, Kelly recognizes the importance of ensuring that America's veterans receive the support and care that they've earned. New Hampshire, which has a large veteran population, is effectively the only state in the nation without a full-service VA hospital - forcing many Granite State veterans to travel long distances and cross state lines to receive treatment. Kelly is working in a bipartisan way to ensure that New Hampshire veterans don't have to travel outside the state to access full-service VA care.
Additionally, Kelly's office is a resource for those who have served in our nation's military - standing ready to assist New Hampshire veterans and their families.
