Rep. Frederica Wilson (FL-17) today issued the following statement in support of the National Labor Relations Board's (NLRB) new rules to protect workers' rights and ensure fairer elections in the workplace:
"I applaud the NLRB for spelling out clear rules of the road that protect the fundamental right of workers to choose whether or not to form a union.
"This proposal is about fairness and ensuring a level playing field between workers and their bosses. Workers deserve fair elections with modernized rules that protect against manipulation and obstruction of the union vote.
"When workers' rights are upheld, it is a victory for not only our working families, but also our businesses and economy as a whole."
Rep. Wilson recently submitted a statement for the record to the Education and Workforce Committee in response to their partisan hearing entitled "Rushing Union Elections: Protecting the Interests of Big Labor at the Expense of Workers' Free Choice."
